Out of the box, Clarity provides you with a variety of integrations with several accounting/financials systems. However, if your specific system is not currently integrated, we're happy to work with you to develop an integration. This article will provide you with instructions on how you can upload the interface file into Clarity.
Import the .rtm file
Fom the top menu Reports > Report explorer > window
click on the “New report” icon to open the New report
Load the .rtm file : From top menu > File > Load from File… >
Pre-Requisites
- Have received the .RTM file from Paymate (be sure you know where this file is located!)
Importing The .RTM File
1. In Clarity, navigate to Reports > Report Explorer.
2. Navigate to File > New > Report to create a new report. The Report Builder will pop up.
3. Navigate to File > Load From File....
4. Locate and select the .RTM file that will produce the report from your computer.
5. Click Locate and select the .rtm file that will produce the report > click “Open”. The report layout is now imported.
Save the file into the system: from top menu File > Save as…>6. Navigate to File > Save As... to save your file into Clarity.
7. Select the location where you want to save the report. For interfaces select Interfaces folder. For GL interfaces, select 'General ledger folder > enter the Name of the report into the Name field and make note of the file name > click Save button
Close the Report Builder window

8. Enter the "Name" for your report. Be sure to remember or note down the name of your report!
9. Click "Save" to save your changes.
10. Close the report builder. You should still have the Report Explorer window open.

Add the interface to the system
Adding The Interface To Clarity
1. In Clarity, navigate to From top menu: Configuration > Interfaces > G/L export interfacesExport Interfaces.
2. Click “+” to add the a new interface.
3. Enter the detail interfaceThe Code and the Name is how the interface will be listed a "Code" and "Name" to identify the interface. This is how it will be displayed in the interfaces list
The Layout name is the name of the report saved earlier and can be selected from the drop down list.
Default export file name: click the folder icon to select the location and the file name
Default date format: select from the drop down list. Example: yyyy/mm/dd
Save the interface and close the window : click the check mark button in the G/ L export interfaces window
How to select the new interface
From top menu Setup > Preferences > Interfaces tab > In the “General ledger settings” section from the drop down list select the interface > Save changes

4. Enter the "Account Code Format". Click the "?" button to find out more.
5. Enter the "Layout Name" of the interface. This is the report name that you saved earlier, in step #8 in the previous section (Importing The .RTM File).
6. Enter the "Default Export File Name".
7. Click the folder icon next to "Default Export File Name" to identify the default location of where your export will be saved.
8. Select a "Default Date Format".
9. If you want to have a fixed date format, checkmark the "Fixed Date Format" checkbox.
10. If you want to append your entries, checkmark the "Append Entries" checkbox.
11. Navigate to the 'G/L Parameters' tab.
12. Double-check the parameters and verify if the field is mandatory or not. If mandatory, ensure that the checkbox in the "Mandatory" field is checkmarked.
13. Click the checkmark icon at the top-right corner of the window to save your changes.
How To Select Your New General Ledger Interface As Default
- In Clarity, navigate to Setup > Preferences > 'Interfaces' tab.
- In the General Ledger Settings section, select the correct "Default Export Interface" in the dropdown field. This will be the same name that you named your interface from step #3 in the previous section (Adding The Interface to Clarity).
- Click the checkmark icon at the top-right corner of the window to save your changes.
Tip: Be sure to test out your interface before going live with it! Run the testing and check the exported file
